The Apica Premium C.D. Notebook

If you haven’t heard of Apica Notebooks, let me tell you about it because it’s one of my absolute favorites!fullsizeoutput_1611.jpeg

For the past few years, I’ve been using C.D. notebooks for everything, and with everything. Pencil, ballpoint pen, highlighters, etc. It was only recently when they came out with the Premium that I started using my fountain pens with it.

The paper used in the premium notebooks is honestly quite impressive. It’s thicker than Tomoe River paper, and in a side by side comparison it’s also so, so, SO much smoother. The only object I can somewhat compare the silkiness of the paper to, would be to the smoothness of glass, or maybe marble. It also doesn’t feel porous. If anything the paper makes you think ink might just run right off the page like glass.

Fortunately it doesn’t. It’s more absorbent than Tomoe River paper, yes. Which means, that if you decide to do some ink droplets on the page it’ll feather and distort the droplets. But that’s what Tomoe River paper is for, lol.

If you’re looking to just use this notebook as your everyday, than it’s perfection. I knew when I first purchased it as an A4, that I would consistently come back to this notebook because of how soft the paper is. There’s just nothing else like it.

I’ve heard that stone paper is extremely soft, I’ve never tried it myself so I can’t verify that information. However I would imagine though that this premium paper might be a strong contender in that respect. So if you’ve tried stone paper and you’ve also tried one of these premium notebooks, let me know which you think is the softest. Because that’s something I’ve been curious about myself.

Honestly, if you’ve never tried this paper and you want to try something new, this would be my recommendation, because yes many notebook will come and go in my life but this one, this one is going to remain a staple. It will always remain somewhere in my drawers, ready to be doodled on.

I can’t say enough good things about this brand. But don’t take my word for it. Test it for yourself and let me know what you think.
